Italian top-flight league side Atalanta BC have reached an agreement with Cagliari Calcio over the possible acquisition of Ghana international Ibrahim Sulemana in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Bergamo-based side offer of €8 million has been accepted by Cagliari to secure the signature of the 21-year-old workaholic midfielder ahead of the 2024–25 season campaign.

Sulemana is expected to undergo a mandatory medical examination this week to finalize his switch to the reigning UEFA Europa League title holders.

The move will mark his return to Serie A side, Atalanta BC, a club he joined after leaving the shores of Ghana at age 17 before enjoying spells with Verona and Cagliari.

Sulemana has been a delight to watch in his debut season with Cagliari following his move from Hellas Verona, particularly under the guidance of manager Claudio Ranieri.

He featured prominently in Italian Serie A, starting 16 games and making five substitute appearances, while also netting two goals.

His performances didn't go unnoticed, earning him a debut call-up to the Ghana's national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic in June.

Sulemana made his international debut as a substitute in Ghana's thrilling 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic at Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
