Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi delivered a superb performance as FC St Gallen came from behind to beat Sion 3–1 in the Swiss Super League at Kybunpark on Tuesday night football.

St Gallen recovered from an early opener by Ylyas Chouaref, with goals from Aliou Balde, Lukas Gortler and late substitute Diego Besio securing the victory. However, it was Ati-Zigi’s assured presence in goal that provided the platform for the comeback.

The 29-year-old made four saves, including two sharp stops from close range, as he helped keep Sion at bay during key moments of the match. He also completed 84% of his passes, allowing St Gallen to build confidently from the back.

Ati-Zigi made a number of decisive saves under pressure, particularly during Sion’s late push after pulling a goal back in stoppage time.

Overall, the Ghana international faced five shots on target, conceded once and earned a solid performance rating of seven.

The result strengthens St Gallen’s position near the top (2nd with 34 points) of the table and sets them up for a challenging away fixture against Grasshoppers, where Ati-Zigi is again expected to man the post and play a key role.
