Ghana and Saint Etienne middleman has a personal target of helping his new club establish themselves as mainstay in the French Ligue 1 once again like they use to be in previous years.

The 23-year-old left the shores of Ghana in 2021 after a memorable and amazing three-year spell with West African Football Academy- where he developed very well to be ready for the European challenge.

Having spent another three years with Austrian topflight side Wolfsberger AC, Augustine, joined French Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne just last summer following his stellar and impressive display at the Lavanttal-Arena.

Speaking in a recent interview with Flashscore, the versatile midfielder has his sights set on getting more playing time in their subsequent games to help his club stay in the French topflight.

"It has been good in Saint-Etienne. I made some new friends since I arrived because it's easier when you speak the language.

“I think the most important thing now is to have the team stay in Ligue 1 this season. To keep playing in Ligue 1 is my personal goal and I just need to keep working hard.”

Despite battling some injuries, Augustine Boakye has made five appearances for the Greens and will hope for more minutes when they host Strasbourg in the next round of matches.
