Ghanaian international, Augustine Boakye excelled very well for Saint Etienne in their pulsating 3-3 away draw against Stade Laval in matchday one of the French Ligue 2
The 24-year-old has made an explosive start to the 2025/26 football season with a goal and assist but unfortunately left the pitch with injury
Cameroonian international Malik Tchokounte broke the deadlock of the game in the 16th minute for the host, but the lead was subsequently cancelled out by Irvin Cardona in the 27th minute
Augustine Boakye scored eight minutes later to hand the visitors the lead for the first time in the game but Tchokounte scored again on the stroke of half time to tie the score
The Ghanaian playmaker subsequently assisted Benjamin Old for their third in the 51st minute but was subbed off with injury in the 71st minute and was replaced by Jao Ferreira.
Ethan Clavreul scored again with three minutes to full time to split the points as it finished 3-3 in the end
The extent of Augustine Boakye’s new injury is yet to be determined, hopefully it won’t be anything serious so he will be available for their next game against Rodez.
