Tariq Lamptey, the Black Stars defender, faced another setback just 35 minutes into his return for Brighton and Hove Albion since his last appearance in October.

He sustained the initial injury during a UEFA Europa League clash against Olympique Marseille on October 5, 2023, sidelining him from Premier League action. His comeback occurred in a league match against Nottingham Forest.

Starting for Brighton against Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League, Lamptey's return was brief as he was substituted by Jack Hinshelwood in the 35th minute.

Despite the limited playing time, Lamptey showcased his skills, boasting a 78% pass accuracy and contributing three passes into the final third. Impressively, he held the title of the most fouled player in the match before being replaced.

To assess the extent of his injury, the former Chelsea player will undergo evaluation on Monday.

There is uncertainty about Lamptey's inclusion in the Black Stars team for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place between January and February 2024 in Ivory Coast, pending further evaluation.
