The attacker, who has revealed his aspiration to play for the Bahrain national football team, believes the four-time African champions will excel at the quadrennial football event in the North American nations after their shambolic performances in their Pre-World Cup friendlies against the European nations last month

Bahrain-based Ghanaian wing-forward Daniel Asante has said that the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars will do well at the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament to be cohosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico in June this year.

After suffering from a back-to-back 5-1 and 2-1 defeats against Austria and Germany respectively during their March's friendly games, the west African powerhouse has seen questions being asked about their readiness for the global football event.

However, the versatile frontman is of the strongest conviction that the outcomes of the two friendlies would not in anyway have a negative impact on the team performance when the tournament commences in two months time.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kickgh from his base in Bahrain, the 25-year-old pointed out that playing in such high-profile matches comes with a great advantage as it helps in identifying the team's weaknesses so as to work on them before heading to the main football event.

''l believe with these friendly matches they have played, they are going to pick a lot from that. The technical team would be able to identify the team's weaknesses and work on them before the start of the World Cup tournament,'' he told Kickgh.com

''And again, with the results that was witnessed, l think it could be attributed to inexperience on the part of some players as most of them are new in the team. But trust me, the Black Stars are going to do well when the tournament commences with the help of the technical team being able to work on the areas that need to be improved,'' he added.

Asante is currently plying his football trade with Bahrain Premier League side Budaiya Club.
