Bahrain-based Ghanaian wing-forward Daniel Asante has revealed his readiness to play for the Bahrain national football team if he is being approached by the Bahrain FA.

The former New Edubiase attacking forward, who can operate across the flanks on the field of play, has stated that playing for the Red at the international level remains a dream for him after spending most of his footballing career in the Bahrain football competitions.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kickgh from his base in Bahrain, the Budaiya Club versatile wing-forward has said of his aspiration to don the colours of the Asian country at the senior national level.

He told Kickgh.com: ''When it comes to playing on the international stage, l am ever ready to play for the Bahrain national football team. l have been playing in their league for almost six seasons now and l believe that l am now more accustomed to their climatic conditions. So to switch nationality allegiance and represent them on the international front would not be an issue at all for me.''

Asante said the national team coach has been watching the games of the various clubs in the Bahrain Premier League and he hopes to catch the eyes of the gaffer with his great performance in order to realize his dream of playing for them in the near future.
''l am very much aware that the national team coach has been monitoring players in the league. And as that continues to happen, l know for sure that l would be able to attract his attention with my performances in league games going forward. So considering all these factors, l have the belief that l would one day get the opportunity to play for their national football team.''

Despite his injury plights this term, Asante has so far played in 13 games by scoring 6 goals and setting up another 3 for Budaiya Club in this ongoing Bahraini Premier League.
Having recovered from a Grade 1 hamstring strain injury, he could be in contention to feature for his side when they face Al-Hidd SCC in their next league fixtures on Friday (April 3).
