The Catalan giants are reportedly keeping close tabs on the former Celtic full-back in an effort to reinforce their defensive department with his acquisition in January
Spanish La Liga titans FC Barcelona have set sights on securing the signature of Dutch-Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong from Premier League giants Liverpool in the upcoming winter transfer window, according to a report by Turkish Football Transfer Expert and Insider Ekrem Konur.

The 25-year-old right-back, who swapped Bundesliga top guns Bayer Leverkusen for the Merseyside outfit during the summer transfer window of 2025, has emerged as a transfer target for those in charge of recruitment at Camp Nou ahead of the January window.
The former Manchester City U23 star has so far witnessed a limited game time in the current campaign, with his situation being compounded with the arrival of Barcelona loanee Ronald Araujo as the Uruguayan defender is now being preferred at his position by manager Andoni Iraola.

lt's understood that the Blaugrana are aware of Frimpong's situation at Anfield and are currently weighing up their option to swoop for his services in the next transfer window.
And again, it's believed that the diminutive full-back is also aware of the European superpower advances over his pursuit and is open to linking up with them provided they can meet his price tag of €40 million for his valuation by The Reds.

Frimpong has so far featured in 5 games across all competitions for Liverpool in this current 2026-27 football season.
On the international stage, the Amsterdam-born native defender remains unfit to play for Ghana at the senior level having been cap-tied 15 times by the Netherlands senior national football team so far in his international career.
