Die Schwarzroten are keen on landing the services of the 22-year-old defender of Ghanaian descent in an effort  to reinvigorate their defensive line options with his acquisition this summer

Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen are plotting a move to sign English-born Ghanaian defender Jarell Quansah from Premier Legaue outfit Liverpool, multiple reports from the German media have indicated.

The promising centre-back, who is also on the wanted list of fellow English giants Newcastle United, could be moved on by his employers given the interest being expressed in his signature by suitors ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

lt's understood that the German club are eyeing the Ghana-prospect defender as a replacement for their dependable departed German centre-back Jonathan Glao Tah who linked up with league rivals Bayern Munich this summer.

Reacting on the speculation linking him to Bayer Leverkusen, Quansah said he is ready to take the ''next step'' in his career as he is in a good position to do so.

''I'm not getting too high or too low with anything," the 22-year-old said as quoted by SABC Sport . "I think I can take massive learnings from the three seasons I've had in professional football. From Bristol Rovers until now, to put perspective and look back- I'm in a very good position to take the next step."

He was involved in 25 games for Liverpool across all competitions in the recently concluded 2024-25 football season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the England national youth teams.
