The 25-year-old widesman of Ghanaian descent has severed ties with the German fourth-tier side this January after spending two successful seasons together 

Regionalliga West club Sportfreunde Siegen have parted ways with Belgian-born Ghanaian winger Derrick Kyere, the club have announced.

The former RSC Anderlecht youth star, who joined the German lower division club on a two-and-a-half-year deal in the summer of 2024, has now ended his marriage with them by mutual consent.

A statement over his release reads: ''Sportfreunde Siegen announce that Derrick Kyere is leaving the club at his own request. This decision is based on personal reasons. The club expressly respects this decision and fully understands the player's personal situation.''

''Regardless, the club has already found a replacement for the position. They will officially announce this and other new signings next week.The sports club thanks Derrick Kyere for his dedication, commitment and the time spent together in the club and wishes him and his family a healthy and happy future. Nodda, Derrick!

The Ghana-prospect winger has stated to the club's official website: ''This decision was not easy for me. I am very grateful to Sportfreunde for their trust, support, and the time we spent together. Now it is important for me to focus on personal matters. I wish the club and the team continued success.”

Managing Director Matthias Georg added: ''We have great respect for Derrick's decision. Family and private matters always take precedence. We thank Derrick for his commitment and wish him and his family all the best for the future."

Derrick took in 15 appearances across all competitions for the fourth division side in this current campaign before going their separate ways this January.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the winger still remains eligible to switch international allegiance and represent Ghana at the international level having played for the Belgium U15, U16 & U17 national youth teams.
