Black Stars and Hull City striker, Benjamin Tetteh is at a high risk of missing the 2022 FIFA World Cup after hurting himself early this month with a knee injury.
The 25 year old joined the Tigers in the last summer transfer window from Yeni Malatyaspor after an impressive campaign in the Turkish Super Ligue.
The stalwart striker suffered a hamstring injury after stretching for the ball in the first half of Hull City's 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United at the MKM Stadium and was replaced by Ryan Longman.
He lasted just 14 minutes before going down in some pain waving his hand in the air in obvious discomfort, and after a lengthy period of treatment from City's medical staff.
He underwent a surgery on his knee and was successfully done but is most likely he will miss the Mundial since he is expected to be back after Christmas, confirmed by his manager Shota Arveladze in his pre-match presser last Friday.
The extent of Tetteh's setback means coach Otto Addo will have to find his replacement as soon as possible for the upcoming international friendlies against giants Brazil and Nicaragua later this month.
The former Dreams FC forward is yet to find the back of the net for Hull City in the Championship after eight outings but has three assists to his belt.
Benjamin Tetteh, 25, has been consistent in the Black Stars call up in recent times and was even part of the 2021 AFCON squad and also in the playoffs against Nigeria, in March this year.
