Ghana international Thomas Partey is expected to miss tonight’s Premier League match against Manchester City with a muscular injury.
The Arsenal midfielder trained with teammates on Tuesday and was expected to start the top-of-the-table clash at the Emirates Stadium.
But a late injury setback is set to see him miss out. Although the injury is not thought to be serious, it is nonetheless a significant blow to Arsenal ahead of a hugely important game.
Partey, 29, has been one of Arsenal’s most important and consistent players this season, starting 18 of their 21 games so far in the league.
He joins a lengthy injury list with fellow midfielder Mohamed Elneny already sidelined, alongside Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Jesus. Albert Sambi Lokonga, meanwhile, moved to Crystal Palace on loan during the January transfer window.
