Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin made his first-ever start for Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish La Liga against Atlético Madrid on Tuesday night 

 

Ramadel Falcao scored a late equalizer from the soot to cancel out a first half strike from Alvaro Morata to secure Rayo Vallecano a 1-1 away draw at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium.

 
Abdul Mumin, who had made substitute appearances for Vallecano since joining the from Vitoria Guimaraes during the last summer transfer window, was handed a starting berth against Atlético Madrid by Coach Andoni Iraola.
 
The 24-year-old displayed a five-star performance in Rayo Vallecano shirt as he and his pair Alejandro Catena halted the runs of the Atlético Madrid attackers from causing any havoc after conceding before the half-hour mark.
 
He was scouted by Southampton, Leicester City and Newcastle United but Rayo Vallecano made a swift move in July and paid 1.5 million euros to sign him from Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.
 
Mumin is hoping to be part of Ghana's squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which commences on November 20 in Qatar.
