Osman Bukari and Edmund Addo, the Ghanaian football duo, are on the verge of acquiring Serbian citizenship ahead of the upcoming 2023/24 football season.
Osman Bukari, a winger who joined Red Star Belgrade last year, has quickly become a pivotal player for the team. On the other hand, midfielder Edmund Addo recently signed with Red Star Belgrade and eagerly anticipates his debut season with the club.
However, Red Star Belgrade faces a challenge as they must adhere to the Superliga's regulation, which mandates the registration of up to four foreign players. Currently, both Edmund Addo and Osman Bukari are among the over 10 foreign players in the squad.
To overcome this obstacle, the club has initiated the process for the two Black Stars players to acquire Serbian citizenship. This would enable them to be registered as local players instead of foreigners.
Red Star Belgrade remains optimistic that the necessary procedures will be finalized in time for the commencement of the new season.
