Athletic Bilbao forward, Inaki Williams is doubtful at the moment for Ghana's upcoming crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic early next month. 

The 29-year-old has had an amazing campaign this season for the Rojiblancos with 19-goal involvements; having scored 14 and registered 5 assists in 39 appearances in all competitions.

The lanky forward has fifteen goal contributions in the Spanish La Liga this season- an outstanding performance which has earned him the best African player award in the league this season.

With this explosive form, definitely Black Stars head coach Otto Addo will hope to include him in his squad which is expected to be announced in the next few days but it appears the player is kinda unavailable and could miss out.

Inaki Williams has got a bad scar on his left foot and has already undergone a successful surgery at the IMQ Zorrotzaurre Clinic, and is most likely to sit out in their last game of the season against Rayo Vallacano this weekend, confirmed by the club in a statement posted on their various socials. 

Ghana are currently occupying the fourth spot in Group I of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with just three points after two matches, and will definitely need positive outcomes in these games to enhance their qualification chances. 

The four-time African champions will travel to Bamako to face the Eagles of Mali on June 6, and will host the Wild Beasts of Central African Republic in four days time.
