German-Ghanaian winger Jamie Leweling has emerged as a top target for AFC Bournemouth following Antoine Semenyo’s high-profile move to Manchester City, according to Africasoccer.com.
24-year-old Leweling, who currently plays for Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart and is seen as the ideal replacement for the Ghana international, who joined the Premier League champions on a reported £65 million deal on Friday.
Bournemouth are actively pursuing Leweling, with talks between the clubs reportedly progressing.
The Stuttgart winger, who has made 24 appearances this season, scoring four goals and providing seven assists is said to be open to a move to the Premier League as his current contract with the German side runs until 2029.
Semenyo’s departure to Manchester City, where he signed a five-and-a-half-year contract until 2031, leaves a significant gap in Bournemouth’s attack. The Black Stars forward’s meteoric rise has made him one of the Premier League’s most feared forwards, and the Cherries hope Leweling can step in to fill the void.
