Coventry City centre-forward Brandon Thomas-Asante opened his goal-scoring account for the Black Stars of Ghana against Nigeria in the 2025 Unity Cup semi-final game.
Thomas-Asante, who made his debut for the West African nation in a World Cup Qualifier against Central African Republic in June 2024, scored the consolation goal in Ghana's 2-1 defeat to the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Gtech Community Stadium in London.
The 26-year-old attacker came off the bench after the first half for Asante Kotoko's Kwame Opoku, who had been handed a starting berth by Otto Addo to lead the Black Stars upfront with Christopher Bonsu Baah and Jordan Ayew.
The England-based forward impressed after coming on and scored in the 70th minute with a fine effort to pull one back for Ghana.
Thomas-Asante had an incredible season under Frank Lampard at Coventry City and played an instrumental in their qualification to the Championship playoffs where they lost to Sunderland. He netted four goals and provided three assists in 38 Championship games.
