The defender of Ghanaian root is reportedly nearing a switch to the relegated English top division side from the German elite division outfit in the upcoming summer transfer window

Relegated Premier League side Southampton are set to sign German-born Ghanaian centre-back Joshua Quarshie from Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim, a report from the German media has indicated.

After spending the second-half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at 2. Bundesliga side SpVgg Greuther Fürth, the 20-year-old rearguard is set to part ways with his current employers on a permanent basis ahead of the summer transfer window.

Per Sky Germany, the 1.96 towering defender has already completed his mandatory medical examination with the St. Mary's Stadium campaigners and a transfer fee between 3-3.5 million euros is expected to be forked out for the Ghana-prospect guardsman signature over the deal between both parties.

He made 25 appearances for SpVgg Greuther Fürth across all competitions during his loan spell in the just ended 2024-25 campaign.

Given his Ghanaian root, the 1.96 meter tall central defender still remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Germany U18, U19 and U20 national youth teams.
