The Dutch born Ghanaian striker thanks Ajax fans for support during goal drought, as he scores in 5-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv, and talks on his journey to rebound.
Brian Brobbey has expressed his gratitude to the club’s fans for their unwavering support during his wait to score, as he is ready to make the most of every opportunity on the pitch.
The Netherlands international was delighted to repay their faith by netting a goal in Ajax 5-0 victory over the Israeli giants at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.
“It was great to celebrate with the fans behind the goal,” Brobbey said after the match.
“It felt great. The fans were very important to me. They have always supported me and still do. I knew I had to strike the ball cleanly. Branco van den Boomen told me to shoot high, so that’s what I did.”
For Brobbey, the most important thing is helping Ajax secure three points, no matter how they achieve it. Having missed the net - scoring two goals, managing five assists in 16 matches across all competitions this season, he now wants to play and contribute to the team’s success.
