German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of young left-back Prince Aning, who will play for the U-23s next season
After months of complicated negotiations, Borussia Dortmund have finally secured the signing of Prince Aning from Ajax. The young left-back joins BVB on a four year contract, and is set to play for the U-23s in the 3. Liga next season.
Borussia Dortmund were first linked with a move for Aning in January, and he even visited the club’s training ground with his family. The 18 year old has now finally sealed his move to Dortmund, and Ajax will receive a training compensation for his sale.
Prince Aning played for the Ajax youth team in the recently concluded season. He made 23 appearances for the Ajax U-18s, including five in the UEFA Youth League.
The Netherlands U-18s international made a strong impression on the BVB scouts when Dortmund and Ajax met in the UEFA Youth League group stage. And the Black and Yellows have now managed to complete his signing despite Ajax’s attempts to keep him at the club.
Aning is rated very highly in the Netherlands, and those in charge at Borussia Dortmund will certainly follow his development very closely in the coming months
He could make his competitive debut next month when Christian Preußer’s side go up against SV Wehen Wiesbaden on matchday one of the 2022/23 3. Liga season.
Aning, who turned 18 in April, has also capped eight times for the Netherlands U-18s national team and has one goal and one assist to his name.
He was born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam which makes him eligible to represent Ghana in future despite playing for the Netherlands at the youth levels.
