Burnley is currently engaged in discussions with Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil as they explore the possibility of bringing him to the English Premier League.

The winger from KRC Genk has attracted attention from various English clubs, including Leeds United and Southampton. However, potential transfers to these clubs fell through due to the inability to reach a satisfactory agreement.

Burnley has initiated negotiations with the highly-regarded forward and could potentially finalize a deal before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

Joseph Paintsil's value has soared in this transfer window following an exceptional season in the Belgium Pro League, during which he impressively scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists. His contributions played a pivotal role as Genk narrowly missed out on securing the league title.

While still a significant presence at Genk, the former Tema Youth attacker's time in Belgium seems to be approaching its conclusion, contingent on the success of ongoing negotiations with Burnley.

In the current season, Paintsil has participated in eight matches across various competitions, managing to net a goal and deliver two assists for the prominent Belgian club.
