Turkey-based defender, Daniel Amartey has suffered a fresh injury and is expected to be on sidelines in the next 14 days.

The knock definitely was sustained at training, having featured in their last competitive game against Dynamo Kiev in a game he enjoyed full time action.

His side Besiktas JK weren't in action over the weekend following the postponement of their league game against Adana Demirspor over the weekend.

He will miss the Black Eagles all important return leg fixture tonight against the Ukrainian giants at the Vodafone Park- in a tie they will need the urge to cruise into the 2023/24 UEFA Europa Conference League.

This means Amartey will miss Ghana's final fixture in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Central African Republic next week.

Amartey, 28, is expected to start his rehabilitation as quick as possible so he could be fully recovered and ready after the international break to play against Trabzonspor on September 17.
