English Premier League side Coventry City have announced the signing of Ghana international Caleb Yirenkyi from FC Nordsjaelland on a long-term contract.
The 20-year-old midfielder has joined the Premier League returnees from Danish SuperLiga side for an undisclosed fee in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The club's official statement reads: "Coventry City FC are delighted to announce the signing of Caleb Yirenkyi on a long-term contract, subject to international clearance."
Yireknyi recently starred for Ghana, alongside Brandon Thomas-Asante, who has been a key member of Coventry City's setup for the past seasons, at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and scored the winning goal in their victory over Panama.
The Bechem-born has been capped 15 times already by the Black Stars after his impressive performances for his club in the Danish top-flight league.
After graduating from the Right to Dream academy, he moved over to Nordsjaelland in 2024 and made his senior debut for them in September that year at the age of 18.
He quickly established himself in the first team and in the 2025-26 season, Yirenkyi played 34 times as Nordsjaelland finished third and qualified for the UEFA Conference League.
His performances were also recognised at the end of the season as he was named Danish Superliga Young Player of the Year and was also named in the division’s 2025-26 Team of the Year.
