The workaholic midfielder is over the moon after completing his dream move to the Premier League
Ghana international Caleb Yirenkyi has expressed his joy over his switch to English Premier League outfit Coventry City for the club record fee in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old signed a long-term contract worth 30 million euros with the Sky Blues after passing a mandatory medical examination.
Yirenkyi excited for his new challenge in the Premier League with the Sky Blues.
“I’m excited to be at this club. I’ve heard so much about it and I really feel positive about being here," He told the club's official website in an interview.
“When I spoke to the Head Coach about the plans and the style, it’s something I really like, and I look forward to learning from him.
“I want to give my best to the team each and every day. I’m still young so I want to learn from the Head Coach, the other players and work really hard for the team.
“I’ve also heard a lot about the fans, they’re incredible and I can’t wait to play in front of them.”
Yirenkyi made his international debut in May 2025 and played at this summer's World Cup, scoring a stoppage-time winner in the Black Stars' group win over Panama.
He becomes Coventry's fifth summer signing after Frank Lampard led the club back into the top flight after a 25-year absence.
Although primarily a midfielder, Yirenkyi is known for his versatility having played at right-back for both club and country.
