The Black Stars shot-stopper picked up a finger injury during the warm-up for Charlton Athletic game against Burton Albion on Saturday.
Charlton Athletic manager Ben Garner has provided an update on Jojo Wollacott's injury which ruled him out of their 3-3 away draw with Burton Albion in the English League One.
According to Ben Garner, Wollacott will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury with just seven days to the commencement of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“He [Jojo Wollacott] caught the end of his finger in the warm-up. He’ll get scanned as soon as we get back down to London.”
“We’re hoping and praying that it is nothing because he’s due to fly out to the World Cup tomorrow.”
The ex- Swindon Town goalie has been outstanding since taking over the Black Stars post and has proven to be the best the country has at the moment, having played a vital role in securing the Mundial ticket with his heroics against Nigeria in Abuja.
The Black Stars provisional list is out already with the final 26 set to be released just this Monday. A scan on his fresh finger injury will determined the extent and as to whether he will make it to Qatar or not.
The four time African champions are in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and two time world champions Uruguay. The competition starts on November 20, 2022.
