Ghanaian centre-forward Abdul Aziz Yakubu was on target again to propel Rio Ave to an important away win over Arouca in the Portuguese top-tier league on Saturday.
Aziz Yakubu netted his sixth goal of the season to aid Rio Ave record a 1-0 win over Arouca in their match-week 12 encounter at the Municipal de Arouca.
After lack of goals in the first half, the Tamale-born opened the score for the Green and White lads via spot-kick on the 59th minute.
Rio Ave could have doubled their lead once again via a penalty but Emmanuel Boateng failed to make it count on the 64th minute of the game.
Boateng and Aziz Yakubu were substituted in the final fifteen minutes of the game while Jerome Opoku enjoyed the entire duration for Arouca.
Aziz Yakubu has scored six goals and provided three assists in his 13 appearances for Rio Ave.
