Coventry City manager, Frank Lampard has waxed lyrical about the instant impact made by Black Stars forward Brandon Thomas-Asante over the weekend in their 2-0 win over Middlesbrough at the Coventry Building Society Arena
The win sealed the Sky-Blues' spot in the Championship Playoffs after finishing in fifth place 69 points and will now push harder for qualification into the Premier League
English international Jack Rudoni opened the scoring account just on the stroke of half time after a very tough encounter. It was even worse in the second half as they had to at certain point stayed more in their zone to preserve their lead
However, Brandon Thomas-Asante's introduction in the 72nd minute really conjured some magic after assisting Jack Rudoni for their second to wrap up the victory
Speaking after the game, the Chelsea legend was full of praises for Brandon's performance and instant impact and added he is very excited as he is just coming back from injury
“Shout out to Brandon, who came on, showed physicality, speed and desire.
"He’s been injured, came back, trained well and has been telling me he’s ready, and he showed me he was ready today, and he had a massive impact on the game," he added.
Coventry City will now kickoff their campaign in the playoffs against Sunderland in a double header starting from May 9, 2025
