English Premier League side Crystal Palace are close to agreeing a deal to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The north London-based club are expected to accept a Palace bid worth £25 million plus £5 million in add-ons for the possible acquisition of the English-born of Ghanaian descent this summer.
The Athletic reported on Sunday that Palace were considering a move for Nketiah, having spoken to Arsenal about the 25-year-old earlier this summer.
That news came shortly after Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Nketiah broke down. The forward decided against making the switch, despite Forest and Arsenal settling on a fee worth up to £30 million.
Earlier in the window, Marseille had worked to recruit the England international but could not find a compromise on the price.
Arsenal tied Nketiah to a new contract in June 2022, just as his was about to become a free agent. His existing deal runs until 2027
Nketiah has yet to make a competitive appearance this campaign after featuring in pre-season.
He was an unused substitute in both of his side’s Premier League fixtures — a 2-0 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and victory at Aston Villa by the same scoreline.
