Cypriot club AC Omonia Women have signed Ghanaian forward Suwaibatu Mohammed for the 2025/26 football season.
The 25-year-old who is nicknamed “Swiss,” joins the Nicosia based side from Egyptian club Wadi Degla and can play both centrally and on the wing.
Mohammed began her career at Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy before moving to the United States, where she represented James Madison University in NCAA Division I from 2019 to 2023. She spent last season with Wadi Degla.
“We announce the transfer of 25-year-old Ghanaian footballer Suwaibatu “Swiss” Mohammed in our team. Swiss began her career in her country at the “Right to Dream” academies. She then played for the James Madison University (NCAA Division I) team in the USA from 2019 to 2023. Last season she played for Egypt and Wadi Degla SC," wrote the club announcing her arrival,” the club said in a post.
Omonia described her as a player whose main characteristics are speed and technique.
“Swiss can play both up top and on the edge of the attack. Her main characteristics are speed and technique. We welcome Swiss to the OMONIA family and wish her every success in her new beginning!”
Mohammed is expected to link up with her new teammates in the coming days ahead of the start of the Cypriot Women’s First Division campaign.
