The relegated English Premier League club have announced the departure of the stalwart defender after seven-year stay at the club.

Ghana international Daniel Amartey will be leaving Leicester City upon the expiration of his contract at the King Power Stadium outfit on June 30.

 
Amartey is among the seven players who have been announced leaving Leicester City after the end of the 2022/23 season's campaign.
 
Amartey, who joined Leicester City in a deal worth €6.60 million from FC Copenhagen in 2016, made a total of 145 appearances and scored three goals for the Foxes.
 
The club's official statement reads “Leicester City confirms the departure of seven senior professionals upon the expiration of their contracts in June. Youri Tielemans and Çağlar Söyüncü among the players to leave King Power Stadium”
  
“Daniel Amartey, Nampalys Mendy, Ryan Bertrand, Ayoze Pérez and Tetê will also leave the Football Club”
 
“Youri Tielemans, Çağlar Söyüncü, Daniel Amartey, Nampalys Mendy, Ryan Bertrand, Ayoze Pérez and Tetê will all bring their spells at King Power Stadium to an end.”
 
Amartey managed to make twenty-four (24) game outings across all competitions for Leicester City in the just ended season.
 
He has been linked with a move to Turkish side Besiktas and Italian Serie A duo AC Milan and Inter Milan in the upcoming summer transfer window.
 
Amartey was a member of the Leicester City team that won their first-ever English Premier League title during the 2015/16 season under Claudio Ranieri. He also aided the Foxes to win the English FA Cup title in 2021.
