The latest update on German-born Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh is that, the player isn't returning anytime soon as they are focusing on getting him fully recovered before he returns into full action.
The attacking midfielder has been sidelined since February 2023 with cruciate ligament injury and missed out the entire 2023/24 season.
The mercurial playmaker has suffered series of significant setbacks on his road to recovery after experiencing problems again due to increased strain on his knee as he is still yet to feature in the ongoing campaign.
Speaking in a recent interview, SC Freiburg manager Julian Schuster confessed the player's recovery is now speeding up but will give him ample time to fully get fit as they don't to rush to get him into action.
“Kofi still has a way to go,” Schuster said. “When you’re out for a long time, it’s all about general fitness. His recovery has shown positive signs, but it’s a process that varies for every individual.”
“Given the duration of the injury, it’s hard to set a definite timeframe. Our focus is on ensuring he fully recovers before stepping back on the pitch.”
Kyereh joined SC Freiburg in 2022 from St Pauli on a free transfer and had been looking forward to making an impact in the Bundesliga. However, his injury woes have now put a damper on those plans.
The Ghanaian international will have to wait patiently for his next opportunity to get back on the pitch and prove himself once again
