The veteran stopper will be parting company with his long-term employers after spending eight seasons together in the Danish football competitions
Experienced Ghanaian defender Kevin Mensah will be leaving Danish Superliga side Brøndby IF come January 1, 2025, the club have confirmed.
The 33-year-old is now bringing his eight-year marriage with the Brøndby Stadium campaigners to an end after linking up with them in 2017.
The former Viborg IF lateral defender, whose current deal will expire on December 31, 2024, has so far endured an injury-ridden career and will not be handed fresh terms as being made known by the Danish top-flight outfit.
''In January 2017, Kevin Mensah joined Brøndby IF from Esbjerg fB, where he has played 156 games in the blue and yellow jersey. Vice-captain for many years and later captain of Brøndby IF until this summer. Kevin Mensah helped win our first title in 10 years, when we won the cup final against Silkeborg IF in Parken in 2018, and our first championship in 16 years, when on a sunny day in May 2021 we could be celebrated as Danish champions at Brøndby Stadium. Brøndby IF and Kevin Mensah will say goodbye to each other at the turn of the year after eight years of cooperation, when our 33-year-old full-back's contract expires,'' a farewell statement from Brondby IF read.
