The promising teenager of Ghanaian origin has been tied down to a long-term contract by the Danish top-flight campaigners

Danish Superliga side Lyngby Boldklub have handed Ghanaian youth star Michael Opoku a four-year contract, with the deal happens to be his first professional contract having rose through their youth team ranks.

The 18-year-old caught the attention of many suitors with his promising talent and has now been tied down to fresh terms by his employers in their bid not to lose him in this winter window.

According to those in charge of the Lyngby Stadium, Opoku will now be with the first team given his impressive displays in the youth set-up.

"Lyngby Boldklub and Michael Opoku sign a contract from summer until 2028. Michael Opoku will also be promoted to the first team squad this summer," an excerpt of statement over the long-term contract of Opoku reads.

Having put pen to paper, the enterprising Ghanaian teenager said signing his first professional contract with Lyngby Boldklub remains the biggest thing to have ever happened to him in his playing career and will do everything possible to repay them for the trust being reposed in him over the deal.

"First of all, I want to thank God for giving me strength every day to achieve my dreams. I am super happy and very grateful that the club has believed in me right from the start and that it is now giving me the chance to sign my first professional contract. It is the biggest thing that has happened to me, and I will do everything to repay the club for the trust, says Michael Opoku"
