Following the disappointing AFCON campaign, Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku has returned to his club Fenerbahce and again starred in their league win over the weekend.
The Yellow-Canaries maintained their lead at the top of the Turkish Super Lig with a vital 2-1 comeback win over Ankaragucu over the weekend at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in match-day 23.
The league leaders conceded in just thirteen minutes from kickoff but a brace from ex- AS Roma attacker Cengiz Under led them to a precious fightback in the game.
The 29-year-old as usual, made the starting line up right on his return, marshalled the back very well and moved on to last the entire duration of the game for the winning side.
Reacting to the win, the bulky center-back once again expressed elation for their win and did the norm by thanking the fans for their unending support always. He wrote on X;

Fenerbahce after the win are leading the table with solid 60 points, three better than second-placed Galatasaray and will travel to Antalyaspor in the next round of matches.
Alexander Djiku undoubtedly, was Ghana's best player at the 2023 AFCON despite the team's first round eviction and was adjudged man of the match in their opening game against Cape Verde.
