Deputy Captain of the Senior national team of Ghana, Andre Ayew, emerge as winner of two top awards at the 41st MTN Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards at the State Banquet Hall.
The Swansea City winger
beat off competition from his teammate Asamoah Gyan and two coaches Yussif Basigi and Bashiru Hayford of Sekondi Hasaacas and AshantiGold Sc respectively in the Sports Personality of the year category.
In the footballer of the year category, he scooped the accolade from last year winner Harrison Afful who plays for MLS side Columbus Crew and Shanghai SIPG forward Asamoah Gyan.
Former Asokwa Deportivo forward Joel Fameyeh and Eric Opoku of Ashanti Gold SC also won Discovery of the year and Premiership star of the year respectively.
