The experienced defender of Ghanaian heritage has returned to action on the field of play with his Danish top-flight outfit for the remainder of the ongoing campaign

Danish-born Ghanaian right-back Kevin Niclas Mensah has recuperated fully and is set to play key role for Brøndby IF in the ongoing Danish SuperLig campaign.

The 31-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament injury in March and was since then forced to spent lengthy time in the treatment room towards his recovery having undergone a successful surgery.

Despite witnessing 30 minutes of game actions against BK Halmstads in their 2-0 victory in the Atlantic Cup contest on Monday, his manager Jesper Sørensen has said ''there is still a long way to go '' for his lateral stopper given his current health condition.

''There is still a long way to go,'' the Dane gaffer told Brøndby TV.

''We are constantly looking at how he reacts when we bring him into battle. Of course, he still has a little way to go, but overall it is positive that he is now on the pitch and could play 30 minutes - the last time it was 20 - so let's see if it can't be a little more next time. It is good that he is getting closer, because he is an important piece both on and off the pitch.

''It looked fine today (Monday, ed.), it got better and better along the way. There is nothing to say if he has to knock some rust off.''

The Viborg-born defender is still qualified to represent Ghana on the international stage as he is yet to be capped by the Danish senior national team despite featuring for their youth teams.
