The defender of Ghanaian heritage has extended his stay with the Belgian second division outfit, with his fresh term set to take him through to 2027

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Gyamfi has signed a contract extension with Challenger Pro League side K Beerschot VA, the club have announced.

The 24-year-old right-back, who joined up with the Purple White Army on a free transfer in 2025, has lived up to his billings at the Olympisch Stadion, hence his reward for a new deal for the subsequent football season.

A statement confirming the contract extension of the former Leicester City U18 star together with his other three team-mates reads: ''Beerschot is fully committed to continuity for the upcoming season. The club management has officially exercised the options in the contracts of Brian Plat, Genki Haraguchi, Nick Shinton, and Dennis Gyamfi . As a result, these four key players will remain with the Mannekes next season as well.''

''The option for Dennis Gyamfi (24) was also exercised. The right-back, who previously trained at Leicester City, has proven himself this season as a reliable and physically strong force on the wing. His speed and defensive discipline make him an important link in the technical staff's tactical plan,'' it added on Gyamfi.

Sporting Director Murat Akin has said of the quartet to his club's official website: ''We are delighted that we have been able to exercise the options in the contracts of Brian, Genki, Nick, and Dennis. These four players form the backbone of our current squad and have each proven their worth to Beerschot in their own way. Retaining this quality and experience is essential for the continued growth of our club and the stability of the first team."

Gyamfi has so far taken in 19 appearances for Beerschot across all contests so far this season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Leiderdorp-born defender still remains eligible to represent Ghana senior national football team on the international stage.
