The silky marksman's early goal and explosive performance couldn't inspire an Ajax victory as Maurice Steijn's side fought back from behind to snatch a draw at the Stadion Woudestein.
Brobbey was handed a starting berth and played full throttle whilst his compatroit Mohammed Kudus also started and completed the entire minutes of the game.
Brobbey calmly slotted home from close range after a catastrophic error from the home team to give the 'Sons of the Gods' an early lead in the 25th minute but Excelsior responded with a late first half questionable equalizer in the 45th minute through Belgian defender Siebe Horemans, but the goal was awarded following a VAR Review.
In the 48th minute Excelsior extended their lead through their lynchpin whiffer Nikolas Agrafiotis.
However, Davy Klaassen saved the day for Ajax with his 72nd minute goal which was assisted by Mohammed Kudus.
