Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Brian Brobbey delivered a dramatic late winner as Sunderland edged Newcastle United 2-1 in a thrilling Premier League Tyne-Wear derby.
Newcastle took an early lead through Anthony Gordon, who finished calmly after capitalizing on a defensive error just 10 minutes into the game.
Sunderland, however, responded strongly after the break. Chemsdine Talbi pulled the visitors level early in the second half, setting up a tense finish between the fierce rivals.
With the match seemingly heading for a draw, Brobbey stepped up in the 90th minute. After seeing his initial effort saved, the striker reacted quickest to slot home the rebound and complete a dramatic comeback.
