French Ligue 2 outfit AS Saint-Étienne have announced the acquisition of Ghana international Ebenezer Annan to augment their defence for the upcoming season's campaign.

Annan has joined the Green and White lads on a three-year deal from Serbian Super Liga champions, Red Star Belgrade for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old left-back, who has been a member of the senior national team of Ghana since 2024, underwent a medical examination earlier today to complete his switch to the French club.

The club's official statement reads: “Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan has joined the Greens' defensive line from Red Star Belgrade. The 22-year-old has signed a contract with Forez until 2028.”

Annan split his 2024–25 season between OFK Beograd and Red Star Belgrade, featuring in 29 league games and playing a total of 38 matches across all competitions.

The former Bologna youth star scored one goal and provided seven assists, helping Red Star Belgrade to clinch the Serbian SuperLiga title.

Annan expressed his delight after completing the move to the last season's French Ligue 1 campaigners, who will be fighting for top-flight promotion in this season's campaign.

“I’m very happy to sign for AS Saint-Étienne. The club is building a strong team with great staff and incredible support from the fans. It’s an honour to be part of this project. I’ll give my all in every match to help the team reach its goals.” Annan told the club's official website.

Annan began his European journey in Italy, joining Bologna’s U19 side before gaining experience with loan spells at Imolese and Novi Pazar, eventually earning a move to Red Star Belgrade from OFK Beograd.
