Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung, has lauded the qualities of Ghanaian teenager Lawrence Setordjie after his signing by the German Bundesliga club.
The 18-year-old joins the Eagles after impressing with his performances for Accra Lions, where he captained the side despite his young age.
His move represents another major milestone for both the player and the Ghanaian club, which has earned a reputation for producing exciting young talents for European football.
Hardung is highly optimistic about the growth of the Ghanaian youngster: "Lawrence Setordjie is a young, talented player who has already gained experience in senior football and captained the Accra Lions squad last season. With his explosive acceleration, agility, and clean technique, he possesses exciting attributes that we believe offer further potential for development.
He added that: “We will provide him with the best possible support—both on and off the pitch—to help him settle in quickly in Germany and at Eintracht Frankfurt, and to take the next steps in his development. We look forward to shaping this journey together with him."
Despite his age, Setordjie consistently demonstrated the confidence and intelligence required to compete at the highest level of Ghanaian football.
Setordjie featured in 27 Ghana Premier League matches across two seasons, contributing one goal and three assists.
Operating primarily as an attacking midfielder, he caught the attention of scouts with his creativity, technical ability, composure on the ball and maturity beyond his years.
His leadership qualities were equally evident at Accra Lions, where he wore the captain’s armband and emerged as one of the club’s brightest prospects.
