Ghanaian forward Elvis Amoh recorded his first assist of the 2025 USL Championship season on Friday, but it was not enough to prevent Indy Eleven from falling 4-2 to North Carolina FC at First Horizon Stadium.
Amoh, who led the line and featured until the 64th minute, set up James Murphy’s 43rd-minute equalizer with a well-timed pass, briefly leveling the score after Rafa Mentzingen had put the hosts ahead.
Despite the momentum shift late in the first half, North Carolina FC regained control after the break, with goals from Jaden Servania, Evan Conway, and Pedro Dolabella sealing all three points. Jack Blake converted a stoppage-time penalty for Indy Eleven, but the effort came too late to alter the outcome.
Amoh’s performance, marked by strong link-up play and attacking intent, was a rare highlight for Indy on an otherwise frustrating night.
Indy Eleven, who maintain an edge in the all-time series with 11 wins over North Carolina FC, will look to bounce back in their upcoming USL Cup fixture against FC Tulsa on July 26.
