Ghanaian international Emmanuel Gyasi secured an important away draw for Empoli with his second goal of the season against Bologna in the Italian Serie A on Saturday evening.
Empoli extended their unbeaten streak of the 2024–25 season's campaign to three matches after a hard-fought 1-1 stalemate with Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dell'Ara.
It took barely 90 seconds for Bologna to take the lead, as a corner was flicked on by Sam Beukema for Giovanni Fabbian to be left unmarked to tap in at the back post.
However, the hosts were still celebrating when they conceded the equaliser, distracted on an Empoli counter-attack so Giuseppe Pezzella floated a ball to the far stick where Emmanuel Gyasi cushioned it gently over the line with his chest.
The former Black Stars striker enjoyed the entire duration of the game with an incredible performance to earn a man of the match award.
Gyasi has now scored two goals in the three Serie A appearances for Empoli this season so far.
