Ghanaian-born attacker Emmanuel Afriyie Sabbi was on target to secure a point for Le Havre against RC Lens in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.

Le Havre continued their battle for top-flight league survival with a 1-1 away draw with RC Lens in their match-week 28 encounter at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

After a goalless first half, RC Lens took the lead through Przemyslaw Frankowski in the 58th minute of the game after Florian Sotoca's strike had been cancelled by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Sabbi brilliantly leveled the score for Le Havre when he elected himself to convert the spot-kick awarded to them in the 78th minute.

He was in action with Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew, who lasted for 74 minutes, while Samed Salis Abdul also featured for RC Lens.

Sabbi was born to Ghanaian parents in Italy before moving to the United States, and he has opted to play for the Americans at the international level.
