The goaltender of Ghanaian descent has put pen to paper on fresh terms over a renewal with the former Premier League campaigners, with his new deal set to take him through to 2027 at the Carrow Road

English-born Ghanaian goalkeeper Caleb Ansen has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract extension with Championship clubs Norwich City, with an option of extension to a further year after the expiration of his new deal, the club have announced.

The 20-year-old shot-stoppe, who has had successful loan spells with both National League North club Bedford Town and National League club Braintree Town this season, is still being regarded as a future prospect with the first-team by his mother club and has now been handed fresh terms over an extension beyond the coming summer window.

A statement confirming his contract extension deal read: ''Norwich City are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Caleb Ansen has signed a new one-year-deal, with an option of a second year. The 20-year-old has been with the Canaries since Under-13s and has made appearances in both the National League North and National League this season across loans spells at Bedford Town and Braintree Town respectively.''

Right after inking his new deal, the Ghana-prospect glovesman has told Canaries.cou.uk: ''I want to thank God for this opportunity because I've had a difficult season. “I also want to thank the club, thank Declan [Rudd], Ricardo [Pereira] and Dan [Crofts] as well for the help to get to this point.  “It's been a difficult season for myself but obviously the club are showing their trust in me, so I want to thank them and now push on.

“I've been made to feel so welcome since I got here and it feels like home now, so I can't thank everyone enough, but as I said, we've got to keep pushing and not get too comfortable. “Hopefully I can be in and around the first team more next season; help them out and obviously push the other ‘keepers for their spots.”

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the English-born native safe pair of hands in between the sticks remains fit to switch nationality and represent Ghana at the senior level, with England and ltaly too an option for him on the international stage.
