Ghanaian midfielder Eric Taylor scored Kongsvinger IL's first goal as they were knocked out of the Norwegian Cup by Rosenborg on a 3-2 scoreline on Tuesday evening.

Spearheading KIL's right side of midfield was former Accra based New Life Football Academy top talent Eric Taylor.

Taylor scored the game's first goal just 13 minutes before half-time as he swarmed the ball home after receiving a decisive pass from Rasmus Christiansen.

Icelandic forward Isak Thorvaldsson nicked home the equalizer eight minutes to recess, before Noa Williams recovered the lead for Kongsvinger in the 67 minutes, but Rosenborg pulled another leveller in the 83rd minute through forward Marius Broholm.

A quarter of an hour into extra time, Nowegians Iver Fossum notched the winner for Rosenborg as they advanced to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Taylor has scored once so far in the six games he has played across all competitions in the ongoing Norwegian First Division.
