Boreham Wood, an English club, has officially announced the signing of former Ghana international forward Kwesi Appiah on a permanent contract for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

The 32-year-old striker joins the fifth-tier side on a two-year deal as a free transfer, following the mutual cancellation of his contract with League Two club Crawley Town.

Appiah kick-started his career at Ebbsfleet United, progressing through their academy at Stonebridge Road before securing a move to Peterborough United in 2008.

During his time with the Posh, he gained valuable experience through loan spells at Weymouth, Kettering Town, and Thurrock. In 2010, he made a permanent move to Brackley Town.

Impressing with his goal-scoring prowess, Appiah attracted attention and earned a move to Crystal Palace in 2012, after an impressive record of 35 goals in 34 appearances for Margate.

Throughout his career, Appiah continued to showcase his talent through loan spells at various clubs in the English Football League (EFL) and National League. Notable stops included Aldershot Town, Yeovil Town, Cambridge United, Notts County, AFC Wimbledon, and Reading.

In 2017, he made a permanent move to AFC Wimbledon, where he spent three years, scoring 15 goals in 72 appearances.

Appiah joined Crawley in 2021, where he had a successful first season, netting 11 goals in 26 league appearances. However, he spent most of the last season on loan at League Two side Colchester United, despite his strong performances for Crawley.

Appiah played seven times for the Black Stars and scored two goals.
