Former Aston Villa winger, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has expressed his belief that it might be time for Arsenal to consider parting ways with Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey.

Partey, who started the season playing as a right-back, is currently sidelined with a groin injury.

Agbonlahor cited Partey's injury record, which he claims has caused him to miss almost half of Arsenal's games since he joined the club, along with his age, as reasons why the club should consider selling him.

“I would let Partey go. In some games he’s poor, in some games, he’s very good, and in some games, he is injured. When you sit down and work it out, is he giving you more than 50% of a season of his best football?" he told talkSPORTS.

“If I was Arsenal I’d sell him if the money’s right. I think they were trying during the summer.

“I would look at a long-term replacement because as much as he’s a good player, the injuries will just get worse the older he gets.”

Partey's recent injury forced him to miss matches against Fulham, Manchester United, Everton, PSV, and Tottenham Hotspur. In his absence, Arsenal has achieved three wins and two draws in their last five games, with new signing Declan Rice taking on the lone pivot role. However, Rice also suffered an injury during the draw against Spurs and is set for further assessment to determine its severity.
