The United States based winger will be unavailable for the Black Stars' international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda, Kickgh.com can exclusively report.
Black Stars attacker Joseph Paintsil has ruled himself out of this month's international friendlies due to inability to secure travel documentation.
The 26-year-old, who recently sealed a sensational move to Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy, has communicated to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over his unavailability for the two matches later this month.
Paintsil joined LA Galaxy on a four-year contract worth $9 million from Belgian giants KRC Genk last month and has already scored one goal and provided an assist in three league appearances.
Ghana is scheduled to play the Super Eagles of Nigeria on March 22 and Uganda on March 26 at the Stade Grade Marrakech in Morocco.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Friday announced Otto Addo as the new Black Stars head coach as replacement for Irish-born Ghanaian coach Chris Hughton, who was sacked after the West African nation's disastrous campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Addo has named Joseph Laumann, John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda as his backroom staff at the senior national team of Ghana.
