The hugely talented attacker has signed his first professional contract with the Dutch Eredivisie side until the summer of 2027.

Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Poku has signed a three-year contract with Almere City FC after impressing at the club's youth side.

The 18-year-old was offered a contract to keep him at the Yanmar Stadion outfit for the next three seasons following his incredible displays at Almere City's U18 and U23 teams.

Poku was given an opportunity to prove himself at the club's U23 side—Jong Almere City FC—under coach Danny Schenkel in the just-ended season's campaign.

The club's official statement reads: “Striker Emmanuel Poku has signed his first professional contract. He signs for three years with Almere City FC after a stormy entrance to the promising team this season.”

He managed to score seven (7) goals and provide an assist in 15 matches for Almere City FC in the recently concluded 2023–24 season.

Poku expressed his delight after signing his first professional contract with Almere City until the middle of 2027.

“Almere City FC is a fantastic club, and I think I have the best chance to develop quickly here. I hope I can be of value to the club in the future.” Poku told the club's official website.

Poku is the younger brother of AZ Alkmaar center-forward Ernest Poku, and both are eligible to represent Ghana at any level.
